well maybe. i did get married back in 2006 when dinosaurs roamed the earth and
100 layer cake,
once wed and
snippet & ink were great ideas waiting to happen. head over to
east side bride to find out what i would change about my wedding day. it surprised even me.

ReplyDeleteI would have changed similar things as well...photography was my biggest mistake...wish I would have not asked a friend and shoved out the dough for a good one!
ReplyDeleteYou look so beautiful; that shot is perfection, and it speaks volumes about what your wedding day is REALLY about: Your love, your happiness. Congrats on that! xo.
ReplyDeletei love this photo AND this dress. so there.
ReplyDeleteI have some regrets about my wedding day. When I got engaged I was really young and had absolutely no idea how to plan a wedding. I also had no help from family - I guess they thought I'd figure it out? Anyway, my husband and I ended up getting married in Italy, just the two of us. (Our families were very kind & supportive.) I wore the most simple white cocktail dress and he wore a jcrew suit. haha! The only pictures we have of us are ones we took of each other and the ones taken by fellow tourists. I laugh just thinking about it...
ReplyDeleteIt was fun, though. Just me and my best friend getting married in a foreign land. But if I could do it all again, I'd have bought the dress of my dreams and hired a photographer.
As for that picture above, you look SO beautiful and happy. And you're doing a great job documenting your daughter's childhood.
great photo!

ReplyDeleteI wish I'd known about all the cool things on Etsy when I got married!
ReplyDeleteyour post on east side bride was my fave of that series so far. thanks for being so candid.
ReplyDeleteand you were such a beautiful bride!
ooooooooh i ADORE your dress! off to read the post now...
ReplyDeletewhat a fun fun post! it's funny i was just thinking about this recently. i was married in 2001...and you're right. Martha was pretty much the Bible. And In Style Weddings was a fun addition to the bridal mag scene. But there were NO wedding blogs. The trend of treating your wedding as an editorial spread hadn't happened....no one blogged about it. I go back an forth. On the one hand, part of me is bummed that we don't have more "moments" captured. We didn't splurge on a videographer—but to be fair, "cool/hip" videos didn't really exist yet. So I didn't want to spend money on something cheesy. Our photographer shot with real film...not digital...we got married at a super cool place (this big mid-century pad that Elvis stayed at in palm springs) but we barely scratched the surface in terms of documenting it all. i think "OH if i was getting married there today, the photos that could be had!!!" On the one hand, blogging makes you really think about the details....but then I also think, I was able to really live in the moment and enjoy the day. If I HAD taken the time to document it beautifully, i probably would have been waaaay more stressed about everything. *sigh*
ReplyDeletewell you look GORGEOUS, my dear. i love your hair down. your face is stunning as always, with that big amazing smile. and i bet elodie will think your dress is gorgeous as can be. xoxo
