all light and shadows

back from bali and straight into a rainy, moody week. this is pretty much perfect for me since i have so much going on right now. we are house hunting, school searching, working, trying to catch up from our big trip and the weather is a nice way to turn inward and focus. at nights, after elodie is in bed, i've been reading my favorite photography books. two that seem perfect for this weather are hungarian photographer andré kértesz' "on reading" and "kértezs". he was one of the pioneers of photography and incorporated the most interesting use of light, shadows, and perspective. a true artist.

  1. That second image with the shadows is fantastic. On another note, my husband and I are photographers in Austin and will be working a wedding with your husband in San Antonio this Fall. I'm sure it will be an amazing party, as we got to see him work his magic at the Cream Event in January.
Also, we were recently in Marfa with our kiddos, too and did a little blog post, in case you care to take a peek:) http://thenicholsblog.com/2012/03/22/the-stars-at-night-are-big-and-bright/

    I really enjoy your blog!!
