paint, wallpaper, or both?

we have now been in our new home for a little over six weeks and it is coming along swimmingly. we had a bed custom made for elodie and i'm now deciding whether or not to paint or wallpaper her room.

two options i'm drawn to...

1. painting the ceiling a soft color and extending the color a bit further down. maybe in a lovely pale pink or salmon? (the pink bug has bit at our house)

2. i've recently heard that spoonflower is now doing custom wallpaper and i would love to create a pattern for her closet. maybe a repeat of buttons or some cute animal illustrations? so many options my brain is bursting from excitement!! anyone care to weigh in?

  3. Did you know that your blog is one of Naomi of Rockstar Diaries' favorites? I found that out today (through this article: http://www.rocknrollbride.com/2012/05/the-inspirations-naomi-davis-of-the-rockstar-diaries/) and then stopped on over to see for myself. And she is right, you blog is charming. :-) Just added you to my blog roll. I love your design ideas here and am eager to get to know you better through your blog!

  4. If I wasn't perpetually renting I'd go with these rainbow walls for my little'un's room... http://www.designsponge.com/2009/09/sneak-peek-joy-thigpen.html
Swoon... Generally prefer the paint to wallpaper, you can do more to decorate on top of it/around it with pictures and curtains and...gosh I'm jealous of your task.

  5. I love the idea of painting on 'wallpaper!' You couldn't necessarily do it with buttons or animals but if you wanted to just do a design it would be easy without the mess and commitment of wall paper. Like a chevron design, stripes or polka dots.

  7. Just popping by from following you on instagram & I have to say that this picture of the buttons is straight outta my childhood! My mothers button collection had so many of these exact buttons. I now have the urge to go button thrifting!

  8. The reason for beginning the project has been taken up in many ways by many different people but to me, it was by necessity. I had been going bigger and bigger with my own canvas paintings up to 2m x 1.2m and still feeling constricted in what I could do. As well as the financial side of producing paintings that size! candy paint colors
