i am truly grateful to everyone who has written with words of advice or shared their own stories of their cesarean births. i'm still a little frightened of the healing process but have amazing support in the days ahead. it will be such a lesson in humility to not be able to do all the things i like to do for myself and others. maybe a lesson i need. asking for help is ok (i'm still telling myself this!) i've culled all of the advice and have created a great birth plan that i'd love to share postpartum.
it might be a bit quiet around here while we are spending time with our new little one. i'm sure i'll still be on instagram quite a bit - my handle is thelittlest.
i'd also like to share a post i wrote for jamie and cecilia's blog on the topic of the first six weeks postpartum. it is more relevant than ever and will be guiding me in the weeks ahead!

So exciting!! Wishing you and your family all the best tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteSending you and your family best wishes. Loved reading your blog the last few months and meeting your little girl will be just spectacular. Embrace every moment xx Stella
ReplyDeleteSending you Love and Light.....
ReplyDeleteSending love to you sweet mama. My first cesarean was for breech (I've now had three). I think he just must have known something I did not. "Tuesday's child is full of grace". It's true! Two of mine are Tuesday babes. :) I'm sure you have one, but my number one must have post cesarean recovery tool (aside from helpers and rest) is an abdominal binder. Wear for 40 days! All the best.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about you so much! My second birth did not go as planned either, but I learned many things through that and am above all thankful for a healthy baby. I know you feel the same and I will be thinking of you tomorrow - can't wait to hear. Xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou will be fabulous and at least you won't have an exhausting 36 hour labour so you'll be all fresh when you meet your newbie! Good luck :)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful picture and post! Hoping you have a smooth and lovely birth to your soon to be little one!

Congratulations! Tomorrow is my birthday as well, and as the commenter above noted, October 30th does have a nice ring to it and is a wonderful day for a birthday. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteit's funny -- i wanted all natural births, but it just wasn't in the cards. i had prepared and read and done everything i needed to do, all whilst ignoring the c-section part because i'd never have or need that. but sometimes mother nature has other things in mind for us! ;) at the end of the day, it wasn't nearly as bad as i thought. you are blessed that you've experienced natural birth once! i recommend moving and keeping active post surgery. i was told not to pick up 10lbs, yet i had to hold my big, nearly 10lb babies! i swear that moving around like i normally would kept my incisions pliable and heal faster, not to mention it made me feel less fragile. it's totally a state of mind. you will do just fine! xo
ReplyDeleteSending you good vibes all the way dear! I love what the meaning of a new moon birth for your little one. Will glad to know more about you and your baby in the next few days to come. I'm glad I'm a follower of you on instagram and I won't miss every single details.
ReplyDeleteHoping and praying for your speedy recovery and a healthy baby! God bless!
