the concentration tongue. so elodie. she takes after her mama on that one.

elodie was supposed to bring her fairy wings to her friend's birthday party. they were stained and misshapen. i looked at them with a critical eye and she said, "oh mama, here they are. aren't they beautiful?" how grown up of me to think of something well loved as ugly. lesson learned.

after bath naked time. francesca is enthralled by her hands. in turn, i am enthralled by her.

"a portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2013."

  1. Your girls are just so lovely. A beautiful lesson from Elodie, I'll remember her sentiment as I cast my eye over our messy, toy-strewn house tomorrow!

  2. The light shining on that beautiful little baby is stunning.
And kids have a way of putting me and my notions of good/beautiful/acceptable in perspective.

  3. What sweet girls! I need to remember the fairy wings story...wise beyond her years :)

  4. LOVE. Such sweet photos, such a sweet life-lesson. Your 52 series is just killing me!

  5. gorgeous daughters! i have one little boy (almost two) and we are expecting number 2, a girl (!) in august. your lovely girls are making me especially excited to welcome a daughter! also, elodie has a-m-a-z-i-n-g hair!
