june gloom

we went down to north county san diego (where i'm from) to visit my dad and stepmom the other day. i love to take the girls and am happy that my dad is retiring soon and i'll be able to visit more. there is something really sweet about my daughters sleeping under the same patch of sky and stars from my childhood. seeing elodie and grandpa makes me so happy.   every morning, we walk under the eucalyptus trees to visit the horse next door. the mornings are cold and overcast now that june gloom is here. it's the same year after year. predictable. still, no matter how many times i have experienced june gloom i still tend to dress warm and regret it later. i'm trying to teach elodie that the clouds really will burn off and the sun will be here before we know it.

elodie's dress c/o macarons - she is obsessed with it!

  1. Really beautiful photos, it must be really cool to share things from your childhood with your own children. I wonder if they will remember things the same way you did?

  2. ugh june gloom. i miss the sun. it's been like two weeks since we've seen it. i hear, inland, that it gets sunny in the afternoon but living on the coast is just plain grey. but, can't complain! i can see the ocean from my house!

  3. we were in north county SD this weekend, such a nice place to escape to from LA. my husband spent a lot of his childhood there and I think feels the same regarding our girls being able to make memories there.
