naomi from love, taza is a breath of fresh air. she has a sweet and playful spirit that comes through in how she documents life with her little family. i knew when i started this series that i would love her point of view -- you can tell she thoroughly enjoys being a mother and sees the adventure in raising a family. although it isn't always easy, there is so much joy along the way. thank you naomi for sharing!
samson is my second baby, and first baby boy. in many ways, he is a dream baby, so easy going and chill. i hear this is often the case with second babies as you just can't cater to their every need as immediately as you might have your first. i am so thankful for his calm and laid back temperament. it has made the transition to a mama of two a bit easier on me.
samson possesses the widest grin and deepest growl known to man. he loves to catch anyone's eye (mine, a strangers on the street....) and growl and grin - turning his head to the side to try to hide right after until he's ready to look up again.
at ten months, physicality comes more into play as he enjoys pulling himself up and has begun to climb everything. he loves to cruise around furniture in our apartment. babies are observant since their first moments, but around ten months you can see how everything they have been taking in is finally coming into play. he has learned how to hold an iphone up to his ear, and also knows how to swipe left and right to see all of mama's apps on the screen move! he will try to place a hat or sunglasses up onto his head and also attempts to mimic his big sister (eleanor, who is two) by holding a crayon and touching the paper with it (he is also very quick to stick said crayon in his mouth right after....) he also loves to "play" the piano with papa and it's always a bit sweet to hear my husband josh playing something beautiful with a few "bang bangs!" on the keys by samson. those duets are my favorite.
some of samson's favorite toys at ten months are his wooden toy stackers which he has figured out how to stack all on his own, and his wooden toy xylophone (similar here) which he can spend a good ten minutes playing (sister likes to accompany him with her ukulele and yes, i may have dreams of the two performing together in years to come!). the only way any lunch or dinner is made around here is opening up the cupboard where all the tupperware lives and letting samson have a go at it. he will sit content as can be on the floor in between mama's legs stacking the tupperware and taking on and off the lids! tupperware has proven to be one of the greatest "toys" for both my kids. we have also just begun "baby signing time" with samson. we started our first daughter, eleanor, with baby signing time around eleven months and around her first birthday, she was signing a handful of words! she went on to learn and sign practically everything (sometimes she'll still sign something as she says it) and it made all of our lives a bit easier to communicate. i like baby signing time because we learn all the signs together through songs and it is slow paced and simple, there aren't a million things going on at once. we also sing the songs throughout the day together and dance to them. (i'm afraid "diaper dance" is stuck in my head more than i'd like to admit.)
samson is my cuddle bug. he sleeps beside me at night and still nurses once or twice around 3 or 4 in the morning. sometimes he'll put his arm around my neck as we cuddle after he nurses and i almost die it makes me so happy. he is such a joy in our lives. i love him so.
