crafting community at the ace hotel

in my mind, an ideal vacation with children would have a bit of relaxation, pool time, great food, fun family activities, and the possibility of making new friends. some people seek this out when they book an all-inclusive stay at sandals but that's not my cup of tea.

along came crafting community with a reinterpretation of what a family weekend retreat should look like. i've wanted to go to this event since elodie was really little but have always been out of town. i am so excited as this year there will be a myriad of thoughtfully prepared art workshops, an ice cream social and barbecue, led recreational activities, story time, and so much more. it brings all the many facets of a family getaway into harmony. how lovely to be a part of this little utopia set in the quiet desert. i'm so inspired by the ladies behind crafting community and their dedication to cultivating the family's collective imagination.

right now elodie loves creating art together without thought to the outcome. with artists such as tanya aguiƱigaconfettisystemrene holguin, yellow owl workshop, and clare vivier leading the workshops, there is no doubt that the outcome will be beautiful and inspiring. second to that, i am looking forward to staying up with her long after dark - exhausted and content -  recounting our favorite parts of the day.  these sweet moments together settle into our bones and we surely carry them back into the chaotic world after the weekend is over. it's sure to be a once in a lifetime experience. if you are in los angeles or looking for a great vacation idea, this is it. i hope you can join!

psssst...i am also excited to say that the littlest will be collaborating with crafting community on a special keepsake activity book. it's been so fun to work on it and will be a great additional way for parents and children to create memories together!

  1. Wow, what an incredible weekend! The line-up looks beyond inspiring! We have tentative plans to be elsewhere that weekend but I am going to see what I can do about being at the Ace instead...

  2. This sounds like a dream. Wish I lived closer (we live in London!)
